PRCC musicians named to all-state band

    POPLARVILLE - Ten Pearl River Community College musicians have been selected to participate in the Mississippi Community College All_State Band Clinic Thursday through Saturday at the University of Southern Mississippi.
    Stephen Berry of Columbia, alto saxophone; Ryan Hagenson of Purvis, trumpet; and Marcus Lindsey of Picayune, trombone, all made first chair in try-outs for the band.
    Other students participating are Maggie Worrell of Bay High, clarinet; Stacey Whitlow of Picayune, flute; Dale Beech of Pearl River Central, French horn; Lacy Odom of Poplarville, trumpet; Andrew Heaton of Hancock High and Scott Pavlisick of Long Beach, tuba; and Wesley Graham of Columbia, percussion.
    Guest conductor is Dr. Bill Wakefield from The University of Oklahoma.
    The band will present a concert at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bennett Auditorium.
